Lavar Ball, Big Baller's and Mental Toughness

For the past year, I have been following Ball brothers and all that’s associated with them including the Big Ballers club basketball team.  Initially, I was fascinated with understanding the club team’s strategies and tactics influence on Chino Hills ability to consistently scoring over 100 points in high school games.  Of course the past year has introduced an array of ancillary, topics around the Ball brothers, including LaVar Ball.  Most people have strong opinions of Mr. Ball.  However, watching this  video clip of the Big Baller’s club basketball team in a rematch with the Compton Magic, has influence my opinion of LaVar Ball in a positive way.

This clip reminds of when the 89-90 Loyola Marymount University men’s basketball team played what is considered one of the best college basketball teams in history, the 89-91 UNLV Runnin Rebels.  So what are the similarities?  In both cases you have one team that clearly has the physical and athletic advantage as a team.  In both cases you have one team who carries themselves as the superior team and approaches their opponent with some disdain and along with attempts to intimidate their opponent.  Ultimately, you observe the mental toughness and the “I accept the challenge” attitude that all great teams posses.  Check these videos out and let me know if you observe the same traits I have.
